Embracing the beauty of genetic difference

12. May 2010 - Minneapolis, Minnesota photography celebrates the beauty of genetic difference fashion photographer Rick Guidotti. Told our slideshow and interview. Former fashion photographer Rick Guidotti was taking pictures of people with genetic differences in over a decade. His organization, Positive Exposure, celebrates the spirit of difference and the joy that comes with self-acceptance. He's committed to change how people see with genetic diseases in the worlditself, and in turn how theyre perceived in their communities. Taking pictures of people with albinism is central to efforts Guidottis with positive replacement value. In recent years, hes some of these young men and women photographed in the villages in Mali and Tanzania, where social stigma can lead to ostracism and sometimes life-threatening consequences and, in South Africa at a school for the blind.
