White German Shepherds - where do they come Did?

White German Shepherds are very rare, compared with their black and tan Rin Tin Tin counterparts. I know with my white shepherd dog, many people are surprised that they exist and are amazed at their color. They assume it is from a Siberian Husky, or any other wolf-dog.

Believe it or not, the white German shepherd was found as early as late 1800 and early 1900, when White was with dogs with the standard German Shepherds bred. The gene for white coat is recessive inGSD, so in order to fully and completely white line that we have received today, there was a lot of specific line breeding and inbreeding, even in those days.

Today it is much easier to find a completely white GSD, but they are still not as separate races of many organizations that recognize the causes of a little controversial. You may only participate in the performance of parts of the AKC competitions, while being excluded from the other events. The reason they are is forbidden by the AKC to do with aEmergency proclaimed by none other than Hitler himself, and the fact that the German dictator, not as the race and she is trying to phase out. They are still known in many parts of Europe through their anti-German names, the Alsatian Wolf Dog, only one of the many variants of the German shepherd name.

Others, without the guidance of modern science, thought the white color indicates health defects such as albinism or malnutrition, while others are only concerned thatthe white line would change color and pale, the standard black and tan coat from other GSD's. The United States followed in the experiment, this phase in the 50's and 60's, but even if many of the reasons why they were banned in the first place and were deleted, now it's just a matter of the AKC does not take the time to return to their 30 + year-old decision. Several groups have continued to rally recognized White Shepherd dogs, and they continue to slowly but steadily making progress.

White Shepherdmany of the same characteristics of all German shepherd breeds, and colors so that the essential difference is really just the color of her jacket. Often, because of the recessive gene, that the white coat, white German Shepherd puppies causes can be more expensive, especially if produced from a long line of other whites, because it strengthens the gene, and The Whitest breed.

So while white German shepherd come with a bit of controversy, they are a great dog, not only for theirvisual beauty, but the same great features we have come to know and love in all the colors of their race.

  1. You do know most of them have black skin under the white fur? If they were albino, they would not have black skin or noses. You would not know this unless you had one as a young puppy.
