Personal life Brother Ali was born in Madison, WI, and spent his early childhood transition from city to city in the Midwest (especially Michigan). Ali's family in Minneapolis, Minnesota, completed in 1992. He attended Cooper High School in New Hope, MN. It was in Minneapolis, that Ali was born convert to Islam and was given the name Ali (he was Jason Newman). According to interviews he is blind.
